Abel Tasman
Sweet as, the road trip continued and we found ourselves at the trail head for the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. The hike is one of NZ's "Great Walks" and proved to be a very laid back trip with lots of time spent sitting on the beach. We spent two nights and three days walking from the south end to the northern end then took a water taxi back to the car.
Looks like Hawaii, tastes like New Zealand. Abel Tasman National Park.
The start of our hike. The track was practically a sidewalk.
We spent a lot of time sitting and enjoying the beaches.
Abel Tasman By night.
Cool little side creek. Just think, if this was like 10 times bigger it would be a sweet rapid... its been a while...
Over every little ridge we would find another amazing golden sand beach.
The tides made it so some places could only be crossed during low tide. Here we are taking a highwater track trying to keep our feet dry.
The coastline is mainly granite and made for some sweet rock formations.
Another little oasis tucked away in the trees.
My sand art tribute to NZ.
We spent a lot of time sitting and enjoying the beaches.
Abel Tasman By night.Well, I leave for a 20 some day long break tomorrow and will be back around the first of July.
