Mt. Cook and Hooker Part II

We finished up the Hooker River on day two, and as the guide book suggested, it turned out to be a nice continuous grade 3 section. We had great water as it had rained all night. Borrowed some hot water for showers from the local hostel, and then went exploring.

A heap of keas, the world's only alpine parrot, that plague National Parks and busy tourists hubs much like crows and squirrels back in the states. They're cheeky little punks that will eat the rubber off your car when you're not watching. We put the boats in the car before heading to the lodge for lunch!

Everything is steep in New Zealand. The first 2km of the Mueller Hut track are stairs.

The stairs disappear and you're on your own to the top.
